In recent years YouTube has become more than a little passe as the real interest has moved to social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok, and in Asia, Line. But one thing YouTube still does better than most is the long-form informational video. And in that category reside some outstanding cannabis-related channels run by dedicated stoners. In this post, the team at your favorite wholesale head shop take a look at some of their favorite YouTube weed channels. Enjoy.
Our Favorite YouTube Weed Channels in No Particular Order**
There are more cannabis-related YouTube channels than we can count but most of them are frankly unwatchable. There are, however, quite a few weed channels where the channel owners put real time and effort into making them funny, interesting and informative. Out of that collection of channels, we present a sampling of our favorites.
Strain Show
Leading the list is Denver's own Strain Show. The channel is run by a dedicated herb grower and touches on just about everything you ever wanted to know about marijuana. Whether you're interested in becoming a grower yourself, or you just want to know more about the history of marijuana The Strain Show has what you're looking for. The channel also provides reviews of cannabis paraphernalia like vapes, dabs and much more. All in all The Strain Show is the kind of well-considered, well-produced and presented cannabis channel that will appeal to stoners and non-stoners alike.
Mr. Canucks Grow
This channel is focused mostly on cultivating cannabis and provides a wealth of information related to all aspects of that topic. Production values are typically high, the content is interesting and well presented and there's very little repeating of topics that you'll find on lesser cannabis channels. Whether you just want to grow a couple of dozen plants in your basement or you're intent on large-scale cannabis cultivation Mr. Canucks Grow can help.
Some of the most viewed videos on this channel include how to grow cannabis in a closet, how to dry and cure cannabis and how to create hash. Mr. Canuck doesn't just rush through things either. Instead, he gives each subject the time necessary to explain the concepts and processes in depth. The result is one of the best YouTube channels for established and aspiring growers.
Future Cannabis Project
Not sure why this is called the Future Cannabis Project since they seem pretty grounded in the issues of the day but, whatever. Name aside, we enjoy this channel a lot. It's got all kinds of in-depth information on everything from breeding to advocacy and the business of cannabis, which is very big business indeed these days.
In a departure from most weed channels, the FCP channel occasionally hosts roundtable discussions with people in the industry, including growers, cannabis cafe owners, custom bong makers, and others. And there is plenty of information on how to start a cannabis business if that interests you. Just be aware that a lot of FCP videos run an hour or more in length.
From Seed To Stoned
As the name implies this channel focuses on growing cannabis and it does a good job of that. There are plenty of videos addressing the various aspects of cultivation including how to grow indoors, boosting output and even cloning cannabis. Unlike some of the other channels featured here From Seed to Stone videos tend to be more modest in length, with many clocking it at under 10 minutes.
Surprisingly, in spite of their modest length, these videos present copious amounts of information in a well-ordered manner that promotes comprehension. Because of the length of the videos, this is one of the few channels on this list where it's possible to binge-watch multiple videos, which is probably why some of their videos have millions of views.
Seby G
There are countless cannabis-related YouTube channels run by individuals and unfortunately, most of them fall into the "Thanks, but I'll pass" category. Seby G is one notable exception. While production values aren't as high as some of the others it's obvious that the host has an abiding love for pot and a sincere desire to share that love with viewers.
Content ranges from reviews of customized glass pipes and other cannabis-related products, musings on the relative merits of vaping Vs smoking, personal opinions on cannabis-related issues of the day that are remarkably coherent (or at least coherent) and just some fun, free-form videos where the host is obviously winging it. With new videos uploaded on average every other day, there's always plenty to watch and enjoy.
Cali Green
Cali Green is another cultivation-oriented YouTube channel. It was started by a guy named Hank who is still the driving force behind it. Hank fancies himself a medical cannabis expert and is eager to share quality information on the planting, growing, harvesting and curing of cannabis strains he believes provide the greatest medicinal benefits.
Watching some of Cali Green's videos will take an investment in time since they often cover the entire process of cultivation as we just described. But if you have the patience and an interest in cultivation they are very much worth a watch. We should also note that he sprinkles in plenty of short-form videos to provide his subscribers and viewers with a break.
In most cases, you'd have to look to find them but if you've just read your way through this post then you have a number of the best YouTube weed channels to get started with, so all we can say is "You're Welcome".
